Kaarakin Wildlife Experience
From AUD $60.00
  • Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Martin, WA
  • Product code: P8YE1Q

Step into the heart of the Perth Hills for a truly special encounter with some of Western Australia’s most iconic wildlife. This unique experience begins with a private guided tour at Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, a not-for-profit sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of WA’s endangered black cockatoos.

During this intimate behind-the-scenes tour, you’ll:

  • Learn about the life-saving work being done to protect our native black cockatoos, from rescue through to their hopeful release
  • Meet some of Kaarakin’s permanent feathered residents who act as ambassadors for their species
  • Visit free-roaming kangaroos, emus, guinea fowl and perhaps even a peacock or two
  • Discover the role of Australia’s apex land predator – the dingo – and what makes them so special
  • Step inside Jack’s Interactive Aviary for an up close and personal experience where friendly black cockatoos may perch on you for a gumnut snack!

After your 75-minute wildlife encounter, we’ll lace up our boots and head out for a relaxing 3km guided hike through the neighbouring native bushland. With eyes to the sky, we’ll listen for the calls of wild cockatoos and immerse ourselves in the sounds, smells and sights of this beautiful natural environment. We'll enjoy a signature OTBT morning tea on a granite outcrop, complete with views of the Perth city skyline.

$25 from every ticket sold goes directly to Kaarakin to support their vital conservation work.

Reconnect with nature, support conservation, and discover the stories of WA’s beloved black cockatoos – this is an experience you’ll never forget.

Includes: 3km guided hike, private guided 75minute experience at Kaarakin Wildlife Centre, morning tea with views, & access to all hike photographs via our private Facebook group - OTBT Connect.
